The new school year has snuck up on us again! As much as we prepare, we can probably agree that we’re never fully ready. As summer begins to wind down, it may be helpful to ready your home for the upcoming school year.
Here are a few organization tips to help all the parents out there!
It’s amazing what a few baskets and hooks will do. Create a functional entrance way that takes control of the clutter and keeps you ready to leave at any moment. This is a minor upgrade that allows adequate space for backpacks, jackets, sneakers, umbrellas, binders, sports gear, and anything else that you will need at a moments notice. Keeping all these items in one centralized area will keep from running around last minute looking for it all.
Create a breakfast, lunch and snack station. Make morning breakfast and after school snacking easier on you by having your kitchen organized in a way that is easy for the kids to pick out what they want. No matter the size of your kitchen, something as simple as a compartmentalized drawer can make all the difference in the world.
Set up a homework station wherever you feel appropriate in the home. An area near the kitchen is a great space for your kids to get homework done while you’re preparing dinner.
Everyone knows as a parent half of the rest of your life is spent doing laundry. Between school clothes, sports uniforms, play wear, the laundry piles up quick. Get this organized and you will save so much time! Have everyone in the house put all of their laundry in separate bins every day to save you time looking through each room, under beds and who knows where else for clothes.
